Appliances are banned from landfills. Hazardous materials must be removed by a professional. Call your local recycler for details.
Reuse

Reuse is a great way to extend the life of materials and keep them out of the waste stream. Try these ideas:

Repair before discarding

Whenever possible choose one of Humboldt's many numerous reuse, rental and service providers.

Donate working appliances to charity

Appliances may have years of use left in them or need only minor repairs. Call your favorite charity thrift store for details.
